Less than a year later, that smooth-talking “God” reached out to me to partner on MORGAN FREEMAN & FRIENDS, where I shared recipes and island stories with such stars as Kenny Chesney, Orlando Bloom, Alicia Keys, Katie Couric and Kevin Bacon.
Becoming friends when I profiled Morgan in People We Know, I had my bags packed for a trip to The Bahamas, when that smooth talking voice called; asking me if I’d ever written a cookbook? My glib reply was no, but I LOVE to eat. In addition to being a lovely and well-received cookbook, proceeds from sales were used to start the Grenada Relief Fund, to help victims of hurricanes throughout the Caribbean.
